Ade, great pics. I especially like the one with the train station on the right - horse and carts as opposed to traffic jams! Jamie :-)

Hi Ruth,
Thank you for taking an interest!
It's fair to say that not all logos have hidden meaning, most don't. And logos that only work if you search for and find the hidden meaning are barking up the wrong tree. It's just that some designers can't resist a little cleverness and, I think, companies like the mystique that goes with layers of meaning. It can be just one other strand to the brand identity. The key is, I think, that any element of the logo should have longevity and strong appeal, certainly across the target audience. Andy Comber

Hi, I was pointed to this blog from a Linked In discussion. I found it fascinating, and wonder whether if you have to explain a logo and show people these things, whether it is classed as a good logo or not? I didn't see or know any of this, and still can't see the bear in the toblerone.
Regards Ruth

Hi Laura,
Thank you for your kind words. Truly a team effort. Totally agree on supporting local producers. And the great thing is that they are springing up everywhere so you don't have to look far. Who said British food isn't any good?

Thanks Andy for all your hard work on this. It was a fantastic opportunity to shout about the growing success of the local food and drink industry in Shropshire and the rest of the heart of England region, particularly given the recent economic climate. The producers at the Shropshire Food Enterprise Centre have all seen a rise in production to match consumer demand demonstrating that this really is a key market. So go and visit your local farm shops and independent retailers, buy local and support your local businesses!
